Conspire Requirements Specification/New account creation

When presented with the login prompt, typing 'New' allows a user to create a new account. This process is detailed here in linear fashion.

Creation process
Locked account creation
If the sysops specify in Conspire Requirements Specification/Config menu/System, account creation may be locked with a password.

Username and password
Name: New Please choose a name, up to 18 letters long: New Guy Now choose a password for yourself. Try to pick a password that no one would ever guess. It is in your best interest to choose a password that has punctuation, numbers, or a mix of lower and upper case letters, or even a nonsense word, such as glumph. Personal details
At this point, the user is asked for personal information. Which of these is mandatory is configurable by the sysops from the config menu.
Now we need your name and address information. Please enter your real name. Entering a fake name is not advised. You will be given the opportunity to hide this information from the other users if you do not want it publically visible. Entries marked with a star (*) are mandatory. Mistakes
If the user enters no at the following prompt, the entire process is restarted from username selection.

Profile hiding
If you do not wish other users to be able to see your real name, address, and other information, you may hide your identity. This option can be modified later from the <C>onfig menu. Hide your real identity? (Y/N) -> Yes
Account creation
OK, that's it, your account is now being created... Your account has been created. Hit return to continue...
Color check
COLOR Do you wish to enable color? Answer no if the above word did not appear in color or appeared as garbage. Enable color? (Y/N) ->
Introduction helpfile
At this point some information is displayed followed by the 'introduction' help file. This help file must be present on all systems and is a standard part of the distribution. See Conspire Requirements Specification/Help menu.
You will now be given some helpful information on how to use the BBS. If you have never used a DOC-style BBS, it may be helpful to write down some of the things you see. When reading messages, menus are not displayed unless you hit <?>. Hit return to continue... [help file text]
Lobby
After the introduction file is displayed, the user is <j>umped to the Lobby for the first time (which results in roominfo being displayed, see Conspire Requirements Specification/Short prompt commands#Jump).
Account setup
The user's account is created according to the following schema:
- All rooms unzapped (except guessname, passworded, etc)
- Doing field blank (such that Message system is displayed, not truly blank)
- Profile info blank
- eXpress messages enabled (for appropriate clients)
- Novice flag set
E-mail validation
A validation e-mail is sent to the user's e-mail address with a 5 digit code which must be entered for verification purposes.
Hello Username, This is a validation e-mail from BBS Name BBS. It contains a 5 digit code which you must enter to verify your e-mail address. Your verification code is: 34523 To enter the code, hit <V>erify from the short prompt or when you are reading messages. That's a capital V (shift-V), not a lower-case V. Thanks, The Sysops
