Conspire Requirements Specification/Config menu

Displays a menu with system and client configuration options. Different menus are displayed to sysops and everyone else.

Key: <u, U>

Switches the active user whose configuration is being edited. After a valid username is entered, the user's full profile is displayed (see Conspire Requirements Specification/Profile) and the prompt changes to include the working user's username:

Key: <F>

Sets the flags of the current working user. Must be working on a user other than oneself or an error message is displayed. A note is made in the admin log containing the flag changed. See Conspire Requirements Specification/Admin log.

Key: <N>

Changes the name of the current working user. A note is made in the admin log. See Conspire Requirements Specification/Admin log.

Change config (Cat) -> Change username

Cat is now known as Dog.

User Aardvark already exists!

Enters the system configuration menu. See /System.

Key: <a, A>

Changes address info for the current user. Checks to see that mandatory fields aren't blanked.

Enter your address information.  To leave an entry alone, just hit enter.
NOTE: Changing your e-mail address will require you to validate your new
address before you may post on the system again.

Key: <f>

Sets the vanity flag for the current user. May not be allowed for regular users depending on config option -- see NuDOC_Requirements_Specification/Config_menu/System. If not allowed, only sysops and programmers may change their vanity flags and the vanity flags of other users.

Key: <i>

Changes the profile info for the current user. The current info is first printed out, then after a confirmation prompt the user is allowed to enter up to 10 lines of profile info.

Changes a message of up to 79 characters to be printed when the user logs in to the system.

Allows the user to selectively hide their personal information which would otherwise be displayed in the profile (see Conspire Requirements Specification/Profile).

[edit] Terminal type

Key: <t, T>

Allows the user to set terminal type. (The word "color" is displayed in color to test whether the terminal supports it.)

Key: <x, X>

Allows the user to set eXpress message options and manage QuickX and Enable lists. Return at any key prompt drops back to the previous prompt. The user can also clear their X-Log from this menu.

Key: <z>

Zaps or unzaps all non-mandatory rooms on the BBS.

Change config -> MultiZapper

This tool allows you to zap or unzap all rooms on the BBS.
Type ZAP to zap all rooms, or UNZAP to unzap all -> ZAP

All rooms zapped.

Invalid entry or hitting enter:

Type ZAP to zap all rooms, or UNZAP to unzap all -> what

Forget it.

[edit] Delete acct

Key: <D>

Allows deletion of the working user. If the user is online at the time (i.e., deleting themself or deleted by Sysop) they are immediately logged off. Express logs are purged (by updating the ownership table). Same with Mail. The user's account information is cleared and only the user ID remains with a deleted flag set.

Change config -> Delete account

WARNING:  Deleting your account is permanent.  There is no undelete.
You will lose all X logs and Mail.  You will be immediately logged off
the BBS if you delete your account.  Your username may stay reserved
for a period of time after you delete your account, so you may not be
able to re-create it right away.

Do not delete your account if you are unsure!

Key: <%>

Allows the user to set their default guide status. If the user is not flagged as a guide (in <F>lags by a sysop) an error message is displayed.
