Dear Eschwa,

I returned home from the hospital Friday morning after a relatively sleepless night. I'm recovering nicely, but am still in a good amount of pain. I'll be recovering at home the rest of the week.

I received a package yesterday morning via UPS... I didn't think much of it since I was expecting a delivery of green coffee from Sweet Maria's, so I didn't even really look at it. It wasn't until later that I realized that it was a lovely gift basket from Eschwa.

I am truly overwhelmed by you all. Truly. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. This place has been a part of my life for the past 10 years, and is a community in the truest sense of the word, but even so I never expected such an astute kindess directed at me from you all. You very nearly made me cry.

I'll be periodically logging in over the next week as I continue to recover. I find out about the pathology of my thyroid on Monday and whether or not it is malignant. I ask for your continued prayers and kind thoughts through this time.

Thank you, and God bless each of you.

Hi, all.

Still no word on the pathology of my thyroid. I was supposed to find out yestrday, but the lab was backed up, so they said they'd call today.

I'm okay. Tired, but okay. The incision looks very good, but I'm still on my pain meds and still need them. The exhaustion should be alleviated when I figure out my correct dose of synthroid. I'm still not cleared to ddrive, but I can get around pretty well on my own.

By the way, who's the ringleader of the "get Dusty a Amazon gift certificate" club? I am shocked and grateful and need to thank them personally.

There are no ringleaders. We are the Borg.

Shouldn't it be 'get Dusty -an- Amazon gift....'? Or even more kinky, 'Get Dusty an Amazon.'

That would create a whole new series of health issues for Dusty.

And possiblly his wife, depending on how hard she kicks dusty's ass and whether or not the amazon tries to protect him.

My wife would win. Hell hath no fury...

My doctor called yesterday with the pathology results:

Benign.

The other good news is that the suspicious masses (and there were several) were the kind that can and do sometimes turn INTO cancer later. So I did the right thing in having them taken out now.

I can't get over the timing of all this. I still think God had a big hand in all of this, and especially getting my ass to treatment when I did.

You must play dueling banjos. Resistence is futile.

[luser] will be conveying a message to the Borg in the s3kr1t f0rum momentarily. Suffice it to say I'm completely floored.

From Dusty:

>Then I need to convey the following message to the s3kr1t f0rum:

>This is the most amazing display of generosity I've ever received. I am

>completely humbled and floored by this, and thank you all. I don't deserve

>it, but I realize that there's no way that I can give this back, so I thank

>you all from the bottom of my heart, and hope to repay the kindness someday.
